"arrest me" or wHeN pOsInG qUeStIoNs DoN't CoP oUt On ThE aNsWeR

I was taking a look back at my life and thinking about the things I would change. Mainly by reading old entries I just realize a lot of me is...well...I am not sure why I am doing this anyway. So much has changed since I started this weblog back in the day that I didn't even know what a weblog (er...BLOG) was at the time. I mean this site took my internet-bitching virginity and I gladly let it. But still - I'm not the same person I was then at all. I look back on my writings of depression and addiction and see someone living in a bubble. I think it's just high school. Not to say that I am not depressed or to belittle an addiction at all, they're horrible. All I'm saying is that everything that happens in high school happens in a bubble. If you told someone something in first period, you knew damn well the whole school would know your business by lunch. In the same way, if you were having a problem (a feud, a bad day, or even just a simple bit of unhappiness) high school amplified it. But anyway, I'm over all that now. I am glad for what high school, and Bonanza HS specifically, did for me. And I'm gonna hate myself someday for saying this, but ah hell: I wouldn't change anything for the world.

"Cali Haze"

My impromptu trip to Califronia this past weekend was great.

Kevin, Chris, and I just decided to go in the middle of the night Thursday (10ish) and drive all the way through. We stopped at that big thermometer and chilled for a while. A definite nice escape from the harsh Vegas summer heat. Even though we were pretty tired from driving the entire time, we still needed to function and so stopped by a Ralphs for some latenight Full Throttle. The door kept BEEEEPing so annoyingly. After that we drove all along the PCH and finally rested on a beach by Neptunes Nest. Since it was so late (or, really really early) it was low tide so all the sea anemones were out. They're the coolest things ever. They're these blob-flower looking things that just EAT. It's cool.

We went exploring on all the rocks and everything until it was bright and early Friday morning. Since we knew everyone in Cali had work all day, we just drove around on the PCH and stopped off at every beach we could. We explored, did a whole bunch of walking, and saw some really cool shit.

We found a whole shitload of sand crabs (they're amazing. no really! they ride on the waves, burrow burrow burrow in the sand back to the wave, and ride it agian. they're the surfers of sea life. it's neat) and had to be on the constant lookout for jelly fish coz they were EVERYWHERE. We saw this one huge one trapped on a surf board all wahsed up and this little girl was just SLAPPING it repeatedly, luckily (for her) not hitting the tentacles. We had clam chowder and sushi at a beach on Newport, had 420 at some random park Kevo knew about (if only a cougar or mountaint lion had been there...oh boy would i have TACKLED that shit), and then somehow kept busy running around til pretty damn late (I blame LA traffic for this) coz we didn't meet up with Katie and everyone til like 9 or 10.

We got krunk in the boons of Receda while Katie waxed poetic on the latest adventures of Harry Potter. We were all soooo fucking tired (remember we still had not slept) we kinda just passed out but not as fast NOR as hard as Kevo who was just impossible to wake. This is why he got a penis drawn on him. The last FULLY coherent memory I have from that night is a photo I took of Chris and I smoking with Lucy and Jen. This was around 12:50 AM Friday night. I don't have any photos, nor really any CLEAR memories until 12:49 PM the next day at Tara's. So in between...not all that sure. I seem to remember somewhat driving around and walking up Tara's steepass stairs. Other than that - blurry. Courtizzle and DP came over and the three of us (me Kevo chris AFTER kevin waited godknowshowlong to get up) decided to go see Drum Circle on Venice Beach. We WERE planning on meeting up with other people too but sadly all of our phones were powerless so we just ended up chillin around Cali doing shit all night. We went to drum circle

which is basically EXACTLY what it sounds like. Just a bunch of people with drums and one guy with a fucking sax just making music together and dancing together and everyone all hippyish CHILLIN. It was such a great experience. We even bought a 5 dollar sneak-a-toke for the experienc.e Some random guy tried selling us mushrooms and this random black guy kept talking about his ganja but still - yay.

As the night grew darker, we looked for a piece on Venice Beach. I finally settled on my Faded Glory, which is arT. When we exited the beach we drove around for a while since it was too late really to just GO somewhere and we had no phones. We tried going to Tara's but security was a bitch and at Katie's, everyone was passed out. So with nothing to do and nowhere to go, we continued driving around the town. FYI gas stations + no parking lots + 2AM = some rude motherfuckers who will NOT let you use their bathrooms. However, some 24-hour Donut place with a guy who barely speaks the language? SOOO helpful. It's the same with Maryland. The local workers fucking suck ass and are clueless while the foreigners let you use the bathroom and (sometimes) give you rolling papers. So we have to obviosuly charge my phone so we go to The Commons (think Boca Park or Village Square, done right) and after FOREVER find an outside outlet and use it. The people at that movie theatre gave us a LOOK but still.

When we had a full battery, we continued our journey and stopped at a gas station. Kevo and I are pumping gas while Chris grabs some black and milds from inside. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a woman with blonde hair get out of her car. I note it to myself because even though I dont get any sort of good look at her, I remember earlier saying there were'nt many hot girls on the beach so hey maybe this is one. A few seconds later Chris comes out and is all, "Guys that was Britney Spears". Obviously I'm like YEAH FUCKING RIGHT. So I go in. And sure enough it's Britney-fucking-Spears.

(only...y'know pregnant and not nearly as sultry). She was with that husband of hers, whom I literally only recognized by picturing the most trailer-trashiest ghetto guy I could and then lowering the bar a bit lower. So it was kinda cool getting to see a celebrity, even if it was Britney and K-Fed at 3 in the morning at a Chevron. Hmmm. So now armed with an interesting occurence and not much else (oh and some RockStar/Red Bull i'm SURE), we returned to the first beach we saw when we originally got to Cali and Kevo and I went down for some latenight exploration. We saw soooo many star fish it was ridiculous.

We had til around 10 to kill and it was only around 5ish so we just smoked Newports and black-and-milds and looked at some interesting sea-life. As the tide progressively got higher, it ate my sandals so I am now flip-flopless. We fed the sea creatures and Kevo fought a crab or two. Then we fucking found an octopus and coaxed it out of its habitat.

When the time grew near, I called Courtizzle and got no answer. I bullshittted work a little longer and so we didn't have to go back RIGHT away. So we drove to Katie's and knocked on her door. Dan from debate was over which was just ill. We chilled for a while and then decided to hit up Hollywood for the day since no one was able to hang. We said our goodbyes and took off. I decided to give Riley a call and say goodbye. Luckily she answered and said come over. So suddenly our trip home was detoured slightly by the presence of Riley, Nonie, and fucking Speck!

We all chilled for a while and talked about Ape Grape and shit like that. Then Riley told me the most interesting story (filled with her amazing impressions) of Peter and Bill. I think Peter has a dog and the dog has a cat. Or something like that. It was all so fun. Finally we took a trip to the club and TRIED going to Venice again but there was no parking so we went to the mall and ate and then I picked a ROAR bowl from some place. Finally we met back up with Katie and everyone who SOMEHOW convicned the boys to stay so I could watch one of the last episodes of Queer As Folk with the ladies. We stayed but I didnt watch because Riley and I were LATE. Damn. But still - we got to stay and chill for a while and I got to re-christen Faded Glory with my friends. Finally we said goodbye

and headed out. Kevin was soooooooooooooooo exhausted. It was shitty. We stopped a lot of places, especially Tommy Burgers where we almost got bitchslapped for not ordering with chilli. all in all, an amazing (almost deadly) experience with my good friends, both from Vegas and lovley Claifornia.

Despite working a majority of the day away at the mall,.I actually had a pretty good day. Waking up this morning was a BITCH. I didn't go to bed til' late and then I had to call work at 8 for a possible shift at 10 but no one was there. So I kept falling back asleep and hitting the snooze button just enough to wake up and call. I swear I called and recalled twenty times. But I had a bunch of kickass dreams during my mini-naps so it's okay. then at the mall I got to see Paul @ work, which was tight. Then after work I drove home and hung out with Kevo and James for a while who are apparently FL-bound. Then right after they left, David and Mallory came over and we repaired an old friend. much fun.
